单孔腹腔镜阑尾切除术（无瘢痕腹腔镜阑尾切除术）

SLIC (Strategic Laparoscopy for Improved Cosmesis) is one of the synonyms for Single-Port Laparoscopic Surgery. In this case a 17 y/o girl was suffering from an advanced appendicitis due to a delay of diagnosis because of previous administration of analgesics. There is a very contaminated peritoneal cavity with a perforated and sealed appendix. This kind of cases illustrate the benefits of minimally invasive single port laparoscopic surgery because if this girl would have been operated with open surgery she would have received a 25 to 30 cm incision and scar; instead she was operated only through the umbilicus. Single port laparoscopic surgery leaves no visible scar and has the advantage of less pain and faster recovery as in this girl.
