Hybrid Laparoscopic and Open Ventral Hernia Repair with Biologic Mesh and two 5mm Trocars

Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair can be challenging, and there is always concern for recurrence. Use of biologic mesh can be helpful in cases where risk for infection are high. In this case we used a small incision to dissect and resect the sac. This incision was also used to place the mesh intra-abdominal, for which a 10-12 trocar is usually needed. Use of an angled tacker (Reliatack) allowed us to complete the surgery with two 5mm trocars only, providing an overall better cosmetic result.
